The most prestigious wood carving museum in North America, the Musée des Anciens Canadiens is a wood carving interpretation centre. Through the works of noted artists - the Bourgault brothers, Eugène Leclerc, Émilie Chamard, Pier Cloutier - and of new artists too, the museum traces the history of sculpture and handicrafts in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, the arts and crafts capital of Quebec. More than 225 collection pieces, including replicas of René Lévesque, Pierre Elliot Trudeau and Félix Leclerc. There is also an exhibit, unique in North America, paying tribute to Norman Rockwell.
